Magallanes : Tropical Fish source since the olden days

Ever since I was a kid Magallanes has been synonymous to Tropical Fish. They have really low prices, good variety but fish are really stressed out because of over stocking conditions.

They have a lot of affordable fish food like flakes, pellets, worms and feeder fish.

They also have some aquatic plants but I have seen only three varieties for submerged and 1 for floating.

Having fun with Java Moss

Having fun with Java Moss

Photobucket

Why Java Moss? First of all its the most common aquatic moss kept in the aquarium.
Java Moss is self-attaching, and a very natural aquascape can be achieved by tying
Java Moss on stones or driftwoods. You can use thin fishing line or cotton thread to
tie the Moss.

One important thing to remember is not to heap the moss on top of each another.
Those at the bottom will turn brown and die. Spread them out and you will
get more moss faster.

The moss grows slower when emersed and its triangular shapes will disappear. It
grows much faster if attached to rocks and driftwood.

This moss is very versatile you can make fun aquarium items if used with plastic
wire mesh. you can make a moss wall, a moss tunnel, moss carpet or any shape you can think of using the wire mesh.

CO2 is not required but it helps if you have. Low water temperature will really help too.

You can get good quality and affordable Java Moss at Pipers Pet Shop in Banilad.
